Yeast in the East

*We currently have no upcoming YEAST IN THE EAST classes scheduled*
A workshop about bread and ferments.
Yeast in the East is an after-work, crash-course in sourdough bread making, held at Host of Leyton.  In this jam packed, 3 hour long workshop, we will focus on the importance of yeasts and ferments in baking. Suitable for beginners who want to learn about bread from scratch or for people who already dabble in dough and would like to know more.  We will go through our own sourdough bread recipe and you will take home all you make in the session, which includes your own sourdough starter, your own sourdough sponge, quick-focaccia and a sourdough loaf that you will bake at home (the following morning). A light dinner and doughy snacks are provided (please let us know if you have any dietary requirements) - please feel free to bring a bottle of booze or something to drink! Suitable for all ages, with a class sizes of between 10 – 14 people.  If you would like to book a class like this privately, please get in touch with Julia at
