Slow Dough

A workshop about time and breadmaking. 
In this easygoing, 4 hour long bread-making workshop, we will focus on the importance of time and being slow in baking. Suitable for beginners who want to learn about bread making from scratch or for people who dabble with bread and would like to know more about sourdoughs.  We will experiment with making bread in different time frames, will teach you our own sourdough bread recipe and you will take home all you make in the session, which includes a loaf of bread, your own sourdough starter, sourdough crumpets and some dough for you to bake at home. Afternoon tea is provided (please let us know if you have any dietary requirements).  Suitable for all ages, with a class sizes of between 10 – 14 people. Level: Beginner or for those consolidating some bread knowledge
Focus: How time affects bread, slow and fast proofing and how to schedule bread making around a busy schedule. 
We will cover:
Ingredients, proportions, stretching, folding, proofing, shaping & baking.
Time! How using different yeasts, water temperatures and flour affects timing.  Long and short proof, enriched doughs and sourdough yeast starters
Refund/Exchange policy: We are happy to offer refunds and exchanges up to 14 days before the class. After 14 days, we can only offer an exchange if cancelled 48 hours before the class. No refunds or exchanges will be granted if cancellation is made within 48 hours of the start time (or in the case of a no-show).
