Make it Grain

A workshop exploring flours and grains. 
Make it Grain is a workshop about grains and is for those who already have some experience with bread making and would like to learn more about the different qualities of flour in baking.  In this 4.5 hour long workshop, we will focus on the structure of grain, gluten-full and gluten-free flours, different qualities of flours and milling our own flour. We will make a sourdough loaf using starters made from different flours, a rye loaf, spelt brownies and a corn bread that you will take home with you. We will also try and mill grains from scratch.  Afternoon tea is provided (please let us know if you have any dietary requirements).  Suitable for bakers who have already dabbled in dough, with a class sizes of between 10 – 14 people. Level: For those who already have an understanding of basic bread making techniques. 
Focus: Grain
We will cover:
Ingredients, proportions, stretching, folding, proofing, shaping & baking.
The role of gluten, grains and flour structures. Milling processes and home milling. 
Refund/Exchange policy: We are happy to offer refunds and exchanges up to 14 days before the class. After 14 days, we can only offer an exchange if cancelled 48 hours before the class. No refunds or exchanges will be granted if cancellation is made within 48 hours of the start time (or in the case of a no-show).
