2017:

A LITTLE LOAF
Date: Sunday 14th May
Description: A Little Loaf is a lunchtime bread-making class suitable for beginners with a busy schedule who want to learn about bread-making from scratch. You will be taught Julia's basic sourdough recipe, learn about flours and will take home bread dough and bun dough to bake at home, plus your very own sourdough starter.

YEAST IN THE EAST
Location: Leyton, East London
Yeast in the East is a crash course in sourdough bread making. In this jam packed, 3.5 hour long workshop, you will learn the basics of all things yeasty. Suitable for beginners who want to learn about bread making from scratch or for people who dabble in baking and would like to know more about sourdoughs. This class is suitable for all ages. 35 per head (couples and group discounts availiable, please email hello@thebreadcompanion.com to enquire), class sizes of between 8 12 people. Bring your own bottle of booze to enjoy!

HOW TO EAT YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE!
Date: Sunday 18th December, Wednesday 4th January
Description: How to eat your Christmas Tree with HEKA is a festive supper club showcasing flavours from heroes of the forest, Pine, Spruce and Fir. Join us for a 4 course dinner full of coniferous and splendiferous treats.

A LEVANTINE SUPPER CLUB
Location: The Plough, Swan Wharf, Hackney Wick
Saturday 12th November
E5 Bakehouse, The Bread Companion, The Refugee Council and a group of female refugees invite you to break bread with them at their Levantine supper club as part of the Cause2Create launch event. Cooked and served by the refugee group, enjoy a meal that is far from home but close to hearts - with homemade flat breads, mezes and many more Middle Eastern treats to discover! Tickets are 30 for the full meal including dessert. Drinks not included (soft and alcoholic drinks available at the bar). Please note that all of our proceeds go directly to charities that support the refugees.

FORM, FUNCTION & FOOD
Date: 2nd - 30th September
Location: R-Space Gallery, Lisburn, Northern Ireland
Description: As part of the exhibition, *FORM FUNCTION & FOOD* we are conducting a yeast swap in Lisburn. Pop over to feed our jet set yeast starter and take a piece away with you to make your own sourdough bread. After the exhibition is over, all the bread made I make from the exhibition starter will be called 'The Lisburn Loaf.'

During the London Design Festival, we will be at the very wonderful SCP. Come and try your hand at making very speedy, yoghurty flat breads. Workshops are free and take no longer than 20 minutes.

BAKE AND BLEND AT THE STAMFORD HILL ESTATE

Description: We'll be running baking and tea blending workshops for the residents of the Stamford Hill Estate in their wonderful community garden. 4 hours, free but donations appreciated. In collaboration with Hackney Herbal.
